Celebrate the originality and independence of America’s greatest composers – from jazzy high life captured by George Gershwin and Leonard Bernstein to the epic film scores of Aaron Copeland and John Williams, the American sound is lively and limitless. Valerie Coleman’s anthem for essential workers and a new spin on patriotism by BSO Artistic Partner, and hip-hop spoken word artist Wordsmith update the national tradition for the 21st century.
Like the flag that once flew over Baltimore’s harbor and inspired by The Star-Spangled Banner, this big and bold music is a declaration of freedom. (There will not be fireworks at Boordy this evening)
The gate will open at 4 p.m. for ticket holders to enjoy good food, great wine and our favorite local producers and makers.
The music will start “after the sun sets over the big Boordy Barn”, providing shade for the instruments around 7 p.m. or 7:30 p.m.
Families are welcome to come to Baltimore Symphony Orchestra at Boordy. We are also open for families on Sundays, and a few of our special events.
